Laguna Lodge is a magical place: in the mountains, with every comfort. The birds wake you up, the sun sets over the mountains, and you hear the rain. When you stay in the cabins, a fresh, typical Costa Rican breakfast is served at your table.
It is much more than a hotel and restaurant. There is the farm, like a petting zoo, to see and learn about the animals, plus a separate coffee shop, an ice cream shop, a seafood restaurant, and a souvenir shop. The newest addition is an adopt-a-coffee-plant project: guests own a few coffee plants, watch them grow and bloom, can come help with the harvest, and then receive their own coffee, dried and ready to enjoy at home.
It sits in a historic area known as the 1948 corridor. It fits an investor who wants income property, a family who dreams of running a mountain lodge, or a business owner ready for the next step.
This area is famous for some of the best coffee in Costa Rica and the world. It was also one of the centers of the 1948 civil war, after which Costa Rica abolished its army and became the democracy so many admire. Don Pepe, the president who led that change, lived here in La Lucha, and some of the machines he invented for his coffee farms still work.
